When it was time for The Hare and Hounds Pub in Sidbury, Devon to upgrade their hot water storage system and replace their outdated Telford Tempest, they were in the market for a superior cylinder to do the job. After another manufacturer had let them down by providing them with the wrong spec, but McDonald Water Storage saved the day and manufactured a bespoke 500 Litre PLATEflow within a couple of weeks.
Our manufacturing team built the bespoke cylinder to allow for provisions of a plate heat exchanger at a later date, as the customer informed us that they have a very busy kitchen and may also be looking into renting rooms out in the next couple of years as the business further develops. The versatility of the PLATEflow was paramount in the decision because it allows for future proofing which is perfect for the busy pub and carvery.
The PLATEflow is part of our commercial water heater range, and is designed to supply hot water in situations where demand can vary over the course of a day. Supplied pre-assembled to your own specification, the PLATEflow significantly reduces installation and commissioning time. It can be supplied as either a vented, tank fed unit, or suitable for unvented applications when fed from the mains or a boosted cold water supply.
The 17th Century Pub The Hare and Hounds lies in the heart of East Devon between Honiton and Sidmouth. Due to its isolated position, the pub was once a popular haunt for poachers and smugglers but people come from all over and it is now renowned for its fabulous food and legendary carvery.
