Hot Water Association

The Hot Water Association (HWA) is a member organisation committed to effectively promoting the concept and use of stored hot water in domestic and commercial circumstances in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland. HWA’s membership accounts for nearly 100% of hot water storage devices sold in the UK.

The HWA supports, drives and promotes the sustained growth and improvement of standards within the entire domestic hot water industry.

The main objectives of the HWA are to be recognised as the leading body in domestic hot water storage and, through cooperation and partnerships. This enables them to engage with government at a National and European level to lobby for the interests of the hot water storage industry, to ensure a level regulatory playing field with other technologies and uphold standards of safety and efficiency in the industry.

They promote hot water storage in all suitable circumstances whilst promoting the highest standards of efficiency & manufacturing through the HWA charter.

The HWA Charter Statement requires that all members adhere to the following:

  • To supply fit for purpose products clearly and honestly described
  • To supply products that meet or exceed appropriate standards and building and water regulations
  • To provide pre and post technical support
  • To provide clear and concise warranty details to customers

SNIPEF

The Scottish and Northern Ireland Plumbing Employers’ Federation (SNIPEF) is the principal trade association for plumbing and heating businesses based in Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Since 1923, they have represented the best interests of the plumbing and heating industry, from sole traders to large-scale businesses. They also manage the training of plumbing apprentices, ensuring a skilled workforce in the future.

SNIPEF support members to run successful plumbing and heating businesses in a competitive and changing market, upholding standards of professional plumbing and work with the government, industry bodies and other stakeholders to ensure members are represented on industry issues.

SNIPEF membership is a credible way for contractors to separate themselves from rogue traders, representing more than 750 member firms employing over 5,000 operatives.

SDEHF

The Smart Direct Electric Heating Forum (SDEHF) exists to actively campaign for direct electric heating as a viable, zero-carbon heating solution. This forum serves as a platform to discuss;

  • development of standards and respond to relevant consultations that provide a benefit to the public
  • petitioning of UK government departments and the European Commission on issues that have an impact on members as a whole with a united voice
  • promotion of the industry
  • conducting of educational seminars; the provision of statistical reporting
  • other activities consistent with the role of a trade association in the United Kingdom
