The renowned Merchiston Castle School were looking for an urgent replacement cylinder where the existing one had failed. We manufactured a hot water cylinder to their exact requirements.
The cylinder was 1085 x 670mm in overall size with a capacity of 250 Litres. It had two 2 ¼” side immersion heater bosses, 1” Hot draw off, 1” Secondary return, 1” cold feed c/w baffle and was 35mm Polyurethane foam lagged.
One of the fantastic advantages of our Vented Hot Water Cylinders is that we can manufacture cylinders in many shapes and sizes. From diameters as little as 200mm to 750mm and upwards. They can be manufactured to include extra connections and insulation and there is also an option for the tank to be horizontal in installations where there is insufficient height for a vertical cylinder. They are available in grades 1-3 and come with a 5-year warranty.
Vented Cylinders are regarded as the traditional option, as they have been around for many years. They were first manufactured using copper due to the material’s efficient conductivity of heat. Vented Cylinders store and heat water that is fed directly from a cold feed tank in the loft, or from a combined header tank if no loft space is available.
