On Friday 28th August, the Green Homes Grant Scheme came into effect, allowing homeowners and landlords in England to apply for vouchers worth up to two thirds of the cost of upgrading the energy efficiency of their home. For most people, the maximum contribution will be £5,000, however lower income households could be entitled to have as much as £10,000 of the costs covered.
Business and Energy Secretary, Alok Sharma, said Green Homes Grants are a key part of our plans to build back greener, helping make 600,000 homes more energy efficient with government vouchers, while supporting 100,000 skilled jobs and supporting our transition to net zero carbon emissions by 2050.
The upgrade showing the highest potential annual saving is a heat pump installation, which can provide a potential annual saving of £690 according to the Energy Saving Trust.
The heat pump can be used in conjunction with our ECOflow unvented cylinder, which is specifically designed to maximise the performance of heat pumps, to provide domestic hot water. The ECOflow copper hot water cylinder contains a high performance double or triple pass finned copper coil combined with the unique header design to maximise heat transfer, provide higher flow rates and reduce pressure drop from the heat pump, and can be bespoke designed to suit all applications.
The use of copper cylinders with heat pump products offer;
- Improved performance
- Cheaper running costs
- Copper’s thermal conductivity rating is over 15 times greater than that of stainless steel
- High efficiency finned copper coils, provide one of the most effective heat transfer processes on the market
- Copper has unrivalled bacteria killing properties, even at the lower temperatures achieved by heat pump sources
See the ECOflow product page for further information.
