PLATEflow technology was the clear winner when it came to a replacement hot water storage solution for Pluscarden Abbey.
They were looking for an outstanding cylinder to rise to the challenge and were supplied a 750L PLATEflow incorporating stainless steel buffer vessel complete with DN20 safety and PTRV valves. All the components including control stat, high limit stat, two 100mm temperature gauges, one pressure gauge, DN25 anti-vacuum valve and two 6kw immersion heaters were pre-fitted prior to delivery. The unit was manufactured with 50mm insulation, complete with PVC jacket.
The PLATEflow range forms part of our commercial hot water offering. It is specifically designed to supply hot water in situations where demand can vary over the course of a day. The plate heat exchanger technology offers instantaneous hot water, compact installation, require less hot water storage and space, with the option of the buffer vessel being manufactured from either copper or stainless steel.
Supplied pre-assembled to your own specification, the PLATEflow significantly reduces installation and commissioning time. It can be supplied as either a vented, tank fed unit, or suitable for unvented applications when fed from the mains or a boosted cold water supply.

Pluscarden Abbey are a community of Catholic Benedictine monks living in the only medieval British monastery still being used for its original purpose. Situated in north-east Scotland, six miles south-west of Elgin in Moray, the monastery enjoys the peace and stillness of a secluded glen, but is easily reached by road from the town.
It was founded in 1230 by Alexander II for the Valliscaulian Order. In 1454, following a merger with the priory of Urquhart, Pluscarden Priory became a Benedictine house.
