ELECTRAflow thermal store proved to be the technology of choice for the new 2 The Oval development of luxury apartments situated in one of the most sought after areas in the heart of Harrogate, North Yorkshire. The apartments called for a top quality hot water storage solution to provide both wet central heating and mains pressure hot water, so who better than ourselves to provide the perfect solution to meet their requirements.
The developer specified the ELECTRAflow integrated heating and hot water thermal stores with 250L & 300L capacities, which required bespoke designing to suit the installation requirements. An internal heating coil was also included in the design to supply the sealed heating system, with the units powered by immersion elements and controlled by a purpose designed controller.
The thermal store offers the optimum flexibility, not only compatible with standard and off peak electricity tariffs, but also being available in either a cylinder format or space saving rectangular option as this installation required, to meet both installers and homeowners requirements. An additional benefit this thermal store provides is the ability to raise the temperature of the store to 90 degrees, allowing for 150% more energy to be stored compared to a standard vented or unvented cylinder, which is only held at 60 degrees. Being able to do so enables the homeowner to maximise the benefit of off peak tariffs, helping to minimise the running costs.
Unlike electric central heating boilers, the thermal store is specifically designed to utilise the off peak electricity tariffs where available, a major benefit in the SAP calculations, whilst also contributing to the property achieving a minimum EPC rating of C.
